Costume College dress rehearsal part III, 1871 dress, ball gown version

I also tried on the ball gown bodice of the Tissot dress. I hadn't yet decided which one to wear at the event so I wanted to see which one I'd like better. And also most of the photos of me wearing it when it was first finished didn't come out well so I took advantage of the opportunity.

  1. Still lovely! It only just sank in my mind that this is 1871--a year that usually looks rather unflattering in fashion plates, at least. But you've balanced all the fluff out well and your very small waist helps to keep everything in proportion. Your dress is VERY flattering, and beautiful!

  2. I thought your dress was so lovely in person at Costume College, but it's even more gorgeous with the evening bodice!

  3. I love this color! I can't decide which I like more, the gown with the evening bodice or day bodice. :) Both are delightful! I adore the early bustle period but have yet to actual make anything. Most of my work is 18th century or 1930s/40s.
